Hydrocollator Moist Heat Therapy

Hydrocollator heat therapy uses moist heat to penetrate muscles and relieve stiffness and pain.

This in-office treatment uses packs containing bentonite clay or silica gel that are heated in a temperature controlled water bath to ensure consistent and optimum heat. These packs are then wrapped in cloth and applied to the affected areas to promote muscle relaxation and pain relief. Moist heat has been proven to be more beneficial than the use of dry heat alone.

This therapy can be used as a standalone treatment or as part of a wider physiotherapy programme.
