IASTM & Cupping
Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is a popular treatment for myofascial restriction. Our clinicians are trained to use Hawkgrips IASTM surgical-grade stainless steel therapy tools that come in various shapes and sizes, each designed for specific muscle groups and joint areas to treat various soft tissue dysfunctions. Compressive strokes are applied over the skin with the tools, allowing for efficient location of the tissue dysfunctions at deeper levels. Clinicians trained in this technique can effectively locate adhesions and restrictions in the soft tissue through the vibrations or undulations that HawkGrips instruments provide. The tools create a localized inflammatory response, which increases blood flow and brings healing cells to the injured area, removing waste products and encouraging tissue remodeling and collagen production.
In addition to IASTM to increase blood flow to injured tissue, we also provide cupping therapy. Cupping is a therapeutic technique that utilizes a vacuum force created beneath a small vessel applied onto the skin’s surface. This suction draws blood to the treated area, enhancing circulation, facilitating healing, and relaxing muscle tension.
